Jon Lawson secures first RGPS ring with dramatic Main Event win

Jon Lawson has claimed his first RunGood Poker Series (RGPS) ring after winning the Grand Prix Council Bluffs Main Event. The two-day tournament attracted 390 players, each paying an $800 buy-in, and amassed a prize pool of $273,000. Lawson's victory was his biggest career score to date.

Lawson started the final table with a commanding chip lead and maintained control throughout. His path to the title included a thrilling three-way all-in where he hit a two-outer on the river, eliminating two opponents simultaneously. Back-to-back eliminations followed, sending Ryan Ramsdell and Robert Sherraden out of the competition.

The tournament's $273,000 prize pool was distributed among the top finishers, with Lawson's performance shining as a career milestone. His first RGPS ring comes after years of competing in the series, solidifying his reputation as a consistent and skilled player.
