John Borghetti takes the helm as Crown Resorts’ new chairman in July 2024

Crown Resorts has named John Borghetti as its new chairman, effective from 1 July 2024. He replaces William McBeath, who stepped down to focus on other board commitments. Borghetti brings nearly five decades of leadership qualities, particularly in aviation.

William McBeath took over as chair in July 2022 after Crown’s acquisition by Blackstone. During his tenure, Crown Melbourne and Crown Sydney retained their casino licences. McBeath praised Borghetti’s appointment, highlighting his ability to uphold Crown’s focus on compliance and responsible gambling.

Borghetti will officially begin his role on 1 July 2024. His appointment follows a period of regulatory stability under McBeath’s leadership. The change comes as Crown continues its efforts to strengthen governance and operational standards.
