Jersey's sports scene shines with wins—but top-tier glory remains elusive

Jersey's sports teams have seen mixed fortunes this season, with some securing crucial wins while others face ongoing challenges. Local clubs have performed well in football, netball, and college football, but no Jersey-based team has yet claimed a victory in a top-tier Premier Division across any sport.

In college football, Jersey Bulls kept their play-off ambitions alive with a narrow 1-0 win over Faversham Town. Rai Dos Santos played a key role in the victory, while substitute James Sunley made a strong impact off the bench. Meanwhile, in local league action, St Paul's dominated Madeira with a 6-1 win, St Clement defeated St Peter 3-1, and Sporting Accies fell 5-3 to St John First.

Jersey RFC Women also delivered a commanding performance, beating Medway Women 22-0. The result keeps them firmly in contention for the league title.

On the netball court, Evelyn Partners Jets continued their strong form with a 76-39 thrashing of Leeds Athletic. The win earned them another bonus point, leaving them just two points behind the college football scores leaders. Their momentum is growing as the season progresses.

In hockey, Smugglers fought back to secure a 4-4 draw against Trafalgars in the Super League. Ben Heelis was the standout player, netting a hat-trick to help his side salvage a point.

Away from team sports, Jersey fighters Jack Cairns, Conor Martin, and Felix Gouveia all claimed victories at the Sandee Fight Series in Barnsley.

While Jersey's teams have shown promise in lower divisions and regional competitions, the search for a first top-tier Premier Division win continues. The recent results, however, highlight strong performances in football, rugby, and netball, keeping several sides in the hunt for silverware.
