Jeremy Ausmus falls short of defending his PokerGO Tour crown in 2025

Jeremy Ausmus has faced both triumph and setback in high-stakes poker this year. After securing the 2024 PokerGO Tour (PGT) Player of the Year title, he struggled to defend it in 2025. His recent performance included a costly exit from the Super High Roller Bowl X, where he finished 3rd for a substantial payout but fell short of retaining his championship status.

Ausmus entered 2025 with strong momentum, having already won the 2024 PGT Championship. By mid-year, he recorded 21 cashes, a single tournament victory, and earnings totalling $1,001,291. Despite this success, his points were insufficient to retain the Player of the Year crown.

At the Super High Roller Bowl X, a $100,000 buy-in event, Ausmus reached the final table but was eliminated in 3rd place. His exit came at the hands of Juan Pardo, who went on to finish 2nd, while Seth Davies claimed 1st. The final table also featured Leonard Maue, who placed 4th. The loss marked a notable setback for Ausmus, who had dominated the previous season. His inability to accumulate enough PGT points in 2025 ended his hopes of back-to-back titles.

Ausmus leaves the 2025 season with over $1 million in earnings and a third-place finish in one of poker’s most prestigious events. Though he failed to defend his PGT title, his consistent performance keeps him among the game’s top competitors. The results highlight both his skill and the fierce competition at the highest levels.
