Ironman's daring poker comeback stuns in high-stakes Venetian showdown

A high-stakes cash game at the Venetian Poker Live on Sunday delivered dramatic moments and big swings. The session included a rare six-high showdown and heavy losses for one player in particular. Among the standout hands, a risky all-in move paid off for one participant despite the odds.

The most talked-about hand saw 'Dr. Costa' shove all-in with 6♥4♥, a bold play against stronger starting cards. The flop (J♠6♣6♦) gave them trips, leaving 'Ironman'—believed to be German poker legend Fedor Holz—drawing to just two outs. Luck turned on the river when a jack secured Ironman a $12,075 pot, reversing the expected outcome.

In another clash, 'Dee Arrr' suffered a costly loss with 6♠4♥ against 'Garma's' pocket kings. The hand added to Dee Arrr's tough night, finishing as the biggest loser with a $49,250 deficit. Meanwhile, JP took down a separate $12,000 pot after hitting a flush on the river. Ironman emerged as the night's second-biggest winner, banking $36,400. His performance reinforced his reputation as one of poker's most skilled and resilient players.

The session highlighted both the unpredictability and high rewards of live cash games. Dee Arrr's losses contrasted sharply with Ironman's gains, while a six-high hand became the unlikely centrepiece of the action. The results underscore how thin margins can decide fortunes in poker.
