India's Tri-Services Exercise 'Trishul' to Boost Joint Operational Readiness

The Indian Armed Forces are set to commence a significant Tri-Services Exercise (TSE-2025) named 'Trishul' in early November. Led by the Indian Navy, this large-scale operation aims to enhance joint operational readiness and national security preparedness, while demonstrating the adoption of 'Aatmanirbhar Bharat' principles to tackle emerging threats in contemporary warfare.

Spanning the Gujarat coast and the northern Arabian Sea, with extensive operations across Rajasthan and Gujarat, 'Trishul' will involve the Indian Army, Indian Navy, and Indian Air Force, along with the Border Security Force (BSF), Indian Coast Guard, and other central agencies. The exercise will run until 13 November and involve over 20 Navy ships, 40 fighters and support aircraft, and amphibious assets.

Key objectives include enhancing interoperability, strengthening integration of networks, and advancing jointness in operations across multiple domains. The exercise will validate joint Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR), Electronic Warfare (EW), and Cyber Warfare plans. Notably, carrier operations by the Indian Navy will be conducted jointly with shore-based assets of the Indian Air Force. Recent infrastructure development on the Pakistani side of the region has increased tensions, prompting the BSF to bolster its operational capabilities.

With its focus on joint operational readiness and national security, TSE-2025 'Trishul' is poised to strengthen the Indian Armed Forces' ability to respond to contemporary threats and challenges. The exercise's validation of joint ISR, EW, and Cyber Warfare plans underscores India's commitment to staying ahead in the rapidly evolving security landscape.
