Hyundong Lee Wins Record-Breaking WPT Prime Taiwan Championship

The WPT Prime Taiwan Championship has crowned its latest champion after a record-breaking event in Taipei City. Hyundong Lee took home the title and a career-high payday of $212,005. The tournament drew one of the largest fields ever seen in the region, with 1,470 players competing over six days.

The competition kicked off at the Asia Poker Arena with a buy-in of TWD 35,000 (around $1,200 USD). A total of 1,470 entries created a prize pool exceeding $1.5 million. After intense play, only 183 players finished in the money.

Nine competitors reached the official final table. Lee outlasted them all, securing his first recorded tournament victory. Ci Hong Ho came in second, earning $143,499 for his strong performance.

Lee's win marks a major milestone in his poker career. The event also set a new benchmark for participation in the region. With a substantial prize pool and a packed field, the championship reinforced its status as a key stop on the tournament circuit.
