High-stakes poker drama unfolds at Onyx Club's $200/$400 cash game

A high-stakes cash game at the Onyx Club High Roller Series drew attention for its unusual format. Players competed in a $200/$400 game with a $1,000 ante and a $1,000 bounty for the worst starting hand. Six players, including poker club owner Rob Yong, took part in the action-packed session. The game's livestream faced technical issues, but the Onyx Club later shared details of Hand 43 on social media. In that hand, Mehdi limped in with K♠ 7♦, while Yong, holding A♣ 9♣, raised to $6,000 from the straddle.

On the flop, Yong bet $12,000, and Mehdi called with top pair. The turn saw Mehdi bet $8,000, only for Yong to raise to $35,000. The action escalated further when Mehdi called Yong's $75,000 all-in bet on the river. Yong revealed **A♣ 9♣**, securing the pot. Mehdi, who had started Hand 42 with around $52,000, saw his stack drop after losing the hand and the bounty. Despite the setback, he had previously built his chips to over $100,000 earlier in the session.

The hand ended with Yong taking down the pot, while Mehdi's stack shrank. The game's unique bounty format added extra stakes, with Yong's victory reinforcing his position in the high-roller lineup. The Onyx Club's social media update ensured fans could follow the key moments despite the livestream issues.
