High-stakes blunder ends Carlos Gutierrez Garcia's poker run in ninth place

A dramatic hand at the poker table saw Carlos Gutierrez Garcia eliminated in ninth place. His final move came after pushing all in with a weak holding, only for Jose Aguilera to call with a stronger draw. The showdown left Garcia with nothing and boosted Aguilera's chip lead significantly.

Garcia, down to 145,000 chips, went all in from the Small Blind with A♦2♥. Aguilera, in the Big Blind, decided to call after getting favourable pot odds with 8♠7♦.

The flop fell 5♠6♦4♠, giving Aguilera a pair of sevens. Garcia had started slightly ahead pre-flop, but the board shifted momentum. Neither the turn nor the river improved Garcia's hand, sealing his exit.

With his stack reduced to zero, Garcia collected €3,600 for his ninth-place finish. Meanwhile, Aguilera's chip count climbed to 1,905,000 after the elimination.

Garcia's run ended with a risky shove that failed to pay off. Aguilera's call and subsequent flop turned the hand in his favour, leaving him with a commanding chip advantage. The tournament now continues with eight players remaining.
