Herford Hosts Landmark Conference on Protecting Children from Sexualized Violence

A major conference on combating sexualized violence against children and young people took place in Herford on November 18, 2025. Titled 'Sexualized Violence: Taking Responsibility, Strengthening Protection', the event brought together over 200 specialists from education, social work, and healthcare. Demand was so high that all available places were booked in record time.

The conference was organized jointly by youth welfare offices, health departments, and a local counseling center for sexualized violence. Its aim was to equip professionals with updated knowledge, encourage open discussion, and develop strategies for safer institutions.

The event provided professionals with practical tools and fresh perspectives on preventing and addressing sexualized violence. Organizers hope the discussions and collaborations will lead to stronger protections for children and young people across Herford and beyond.
