Hafþór Björnsson to Attempt Historic Deadlift at 2026 Enhanced Games in Vegas
The first-ever Enhanced Games will launch on May 24, 2026, at Resorts World Las Vegas. Backed by Donald J Trump Jr and 1789 Capital, the event will showcase elite athletes across multiple sports, including a highly anticipated deadlift world record attempt by Hafþór Björnsson.
Hafþór Björnsson, the 2018 World’s Strongest Man champion, currently holds the all-time deadlift record of 510 kg (1,124 lbs). He remains the only athlete to have lifted over 500 kg three times. His next attempt at the Enhanced Games aims to push that record even further.
The event will not only feature strength competitions but also sprinting and swimming. Confirmed participants include sprinters Shania Collins, Reece Prescod, and Fred Kerley, alongside swimmer Cody Miller. Organisers have yet to release full details about all athletes or specific deadlift competition formats. The Enhanced Games is positioned as a new platform for high-performance sports, blending traditional and emerging disciplines. Its debut in Las Vegas marks a significant moment for competitive athletics, with Björnsson’s record attempt serving as a major draw.
The 2026 Enhanced Games will bring together top-tier athletes in strength, speed, and endurance events. Björnsson’s deadlift attempt and the presence of Olympic-level sprinters and swimmers highlight the event’s ambition. Further details on participants and competition structures may be announced closer to the date.
