Gut Clinic raises $1M to expand gastro-metabolic care across Northern India

Gut Clinic, a healthcare startup specializing in gastroenterology, liver, and metabolic care, has secured $1 million in seed funding. The company, based in India, plans to expand its services across Northern India, starting with Delhi NCR and moving into Chandigarh and Punjab. Founded by US-certified physician Dr. Akshat Kumar, the platform aims to revolutionize patient care through technology and clinical expertise.

The funding round drew a strategic group of over 15 investors, including healthcare professionals and industry leaders based in India. Among them are Dr. Amitoj Singh, Dr. Aman Rajpal, Ankur Kathuria, Juhi Bhatnagar, and Deepak Garg. The capital will support the opening of new centers, upgrades to clinical systems, and expanded diagnostic services.

Gut Clinic operates on an outpatient-first model, supported by day-care and in-hospital facilities. The company aims to establish India's largest gastro-metabolic platform, with plans for more than 20 centers in the medium term. Dr. Manav Wadhawan serves as Chief Strategy and Medical Officer, helping guide the startup's growth and clinical direction in India.

While current expansion targets include Chandigarh, Punjab, and other parts of Northern India, no further regional plans have been announced. The startup's focus remains on improving patient outcomes and care experiences through a blend of deep medical knowledge and scalable technology.

The $1 million investment will accelerate Gut Clinic's growth, funding new centers and better diagnostic tools in India. The company's model combines outpatient care with advanced medical infrastructure. Expansion efforts will concentrate on Northern India, with a long-term goal of establishing over 20 specialized centers.
