Green Valley Ranch revives its poker room after a three-year hiatus in Las Vegas
Green Valley Ranch is set to reopen its poker room later this year after closing in 2020 due to the pandemic. The venue will become the 20th live poker room in the Las Vegas Valleyβand the only one in suburban Henderson. Meanwhile, Poker Palace in North Las Vegas will shut its doors at the end of this month, leaving just 19 active rooms in the area.
The reopening follows months of speculation and was first confirmed by John Mehaffey at Vegas Advantage. The poker room will return to its original location as part of a $200 million property-wide remodel. Players can expect new tables, chairs, and TVs, though the space will shrink from 22 tables to 16.
Cash games and tournaments will resume, though it remains unclear whether the $50 daily tournament will return. The room will also operate as non-smoking and sit near the sportsbook.
Green Valley Ranch joins other major casinos in reviving their poker offerings. Caesars is currently undergoing a multi-phase remodel, while Planet Hollywood reopened earlier this year with a fresh design and layout.
The reopening marks the end of a three-year shutdown for Green Valley Ranch's poker room. Once operational, it will fill a gap in Henderson, where no other live poker rooms currently exist. The closure of Poker Palace, however, means the overall number of active rooms in the Las Vegas Valley will drop to 19 by the end of the month.
