GGPoker bans player for real-time cheating in high-stakes tournament

GGPoker has taken stern action against real-time assistance in online poker, banning player Ren Lin and confiscating prize money. The incident occurred during the GGMillion$ event final table on October 14.

Ren Lin admitted to providing real-time advice to another player, 'RealOA', during the event. Despite Lin's claim that he gained no profit, GGPoker confiscated all remaining funds from 'RealOA's account, totalling $346,903. Lin also covered the remaining $96,380 of his own prize money.

GGPoker's statement underscored its commitment to preventing real-time assistance and maintaining player trust. The platform has implemented measures to prevent such incidents and swiftly imposes consequences on offenders. Lin received an indefinite suspension and a permanent ban from all WSOP events, while 'RealOA' was also permanently banned.

GGPoker's actions send a clear message about its zero-tolerance policy towards real-time assistance. Despite some support for Lin from fellow player Daniel Negreanu, GGPoker enforced the suspension and ban. The confiscated funds will be redistributed according to the company's refund policy, ensuring fair play and maintaining the integrity of competitive poker.
