GGMasters Anniversary smashes records with $1.79M poker overlay and Brazilian dominance

The 2024 GGMasters Anniversary Edition on GGPoker has set a new record in online poker. With a guaranteed prizepool of $10 million, the event attracted 59,480 players. A massive $1.79 million overlay—the largest ever—was added to cover the shortfall between entries and the promised prize money.

The tournament drew huge interest, but the buy-ins fell short of the $10 million guarantee. As a result, GGPoker contributed an extra $1.79 million, making it the biggest overlay in online poker history.

In the end, the final three players were all Brazilian. Ramon Kropmanns took first place, securing $956,000. The runner-up, known online as 'Au!Au!Au!In!', earned $980,000. Even the third-place finisher walked away with over half a million dollars. The final nine players each received at least $110,000, ensuring a lucrative payout for those who made it deep into the competition. Looking ahead, GGPoker has already announced major events for 2026. These include the WSOP Super Circuit Edition, the GG World Festival Edition, and the WSOP Online series.

The 2024 GGMasters Anniversary Edition will be remembered for its record-breaking overlay and strong Brazilian presence at the final table. With future tournaments already lined up, GGPoker continues to expand its offerings for online poker players.
