Gauripur Artists Pay Tribute to Zubeen Garg with 'Voice on the Wall' Mural
A collective of local artists from Gauripur has created a striking mural in memory of late musician Zubeen Garg. The mural, titled 'Voice on the Wall', was officially inaugurated on 26 October, drawing residents and art enthusiasts to the Gauripur Public Library's boundary wall. The mural serves as a symbol of love and remembrance for Zubeen Garg, whose profound connection with Assam's musical heritage was celebrated in the event. Created by local artists Bishnu Prasad Ray, Kalyani Adhikary, Nabajyoti Barman, Hemanta Ray, Tanmay Roy, and Nayan Roy, the artwork has become a local attraction, reflecting Gauripur's cultural spirit and pride. The inauguration ceremony revitalised the online campaign #JusticeForZubeenGarg, appealing for widespread support across Assam and beyond. The artists called for a transparent investigation into Zubeen Garg's death, urging authorities to take action. The 'Voice on the Wall' mural stands as a testament to Zubeen Garg's enduring legacy and the power of community art.
