GamblePause Partners With Clarion Gaming to Promote Safer Gambling in Africa

Clarion Gaming has named GamblePause as its Safer Gambling Charity Partner for 2026. The move marks the first annual safer gambling partnership in the online games event sector. It will feature prominently at major industry shows like ICE Barcelona, iGB Affiliate Barcelona, and iGB L!VE London.

GamblePause, a Nigeria-based social impact organisation, works to reduce gambling-related harm across Africa. Founded by Ladipo Abiose Akolade, it offers free counselling, self-exclusion tools, and recovery support. In the past year alone, its campaigns reached over 5,500 people, while one-to-one sessions helped more than 3,000 individuals.

The partnership will give GamblePause a global stage at Clarion Gaming’s online games events. High-profile branding and industry discussions will raise its visibility. Akolade welcomed the collaboration, noting the chance to engage with online games leaders and expand safer gambling initiatives. Clarion Gaming has previously worked with GameCheck to strengthen its responsible gambling efforts. This new agreement builds on that commitment. It will help GamblePause scale awareness campaigns, improve rehabilitation access, and push for safer gambling policies in Africa. In 2025, the organisation also delivered programmes to 23,500 students at the University of Lagos. The partnership aims to extend such efforts further, ensuring broader impact across the continent.

The deal will see GamblePause integrated into key online games events over the next year. Its presence at exhibitions will boost outreach and funding opportunities. Clarion Gaming’s support is set to strengthen safer gambling education and harm reduction in Africa.
