Alessandro Antonello, CEO of Olympique de Marseille, spoke positively about the visit to Kuwait. He highlighted the potential for future sports-related business collaborations. David Abdelkader-Corrihons, Second Counsellor at the French Embassy, reinforced France’s dedication to supporting Kuwait’s modern sports infrastructure and professional sports ecosystems. The event also celebrated the 65th anniversary of Franco-Kuwaiti diplomatic relations, due in 2026. Didier Domi, a former French international footballer and coach, praised Kuwait’s hospitality and passion for football. He noted how the sport brings people together across cultures. Before the match, a 12-minute musical performance will feature international artist Cheb Khaled alongside Kuwaiti musicians. This cultural exchange reflects the broader aim of strengthening ties between the two countries. The French Super Cup itself, established in 1995, remains one of football’s most prestigious fixtures, broadcast on over 122 satellite channels worldwide.
