Florida Lottery smashes record with £1.21B for education in 2025

The Florida Lottery has hit a new financial milestone, pouring a record £1.21 billion into the state's education fund in 2025. Since its launch in 1988, the organization has also supported over 1 million Bright Futures scholarships and created thousands of millionaires through prize payouts.

In the latest fiscal year, total lottery sales climbed to £9.63 billion. Scratch-off games dominated revenue, making up 74% of the total. Among these, the Gold Rush Multiplier game alone brought in £1.29 billion, reflecting a 6.84% increase in scratch-off sales compared to the previous year.

The Florida Lottery reinvests nearly all its revenue—99%—back into the state. Over the years, this has added up to more than £49 billion for education. The program has also paid out over £103.2 billion in prizes, turning 4,430 winners into millionaires.

Despite its financial success, details about the number of retailers selling tickets through Scientific Games' Orlando operation remain undisclosed.

The 2025 figures mark another strong year for the Florida Lottery, with education funding reaching an all-time high. The continued growth in scratch-off sales and prize distributions reinforces its role in supporting both state programs and individual winners.
