Fernando Liano busts in 7th at WSOP Europe Main Event after high-stakes duel

A high-stakes showdown at the WSOP Europe Main Event saw Fernando Liano eliminated in seventh place. His exit came after a dramatic hand against Jose Aguilera, who held a stronger combination. The clash left Aguilera with a significant chip lead as the tournament progresses.

Liano entered the hand with 1,540,000 in chips, while Aguilera sat on 3,505,000. The two players went head-to-head, with Liano holding pocket nines (9♦ 9♣) and Aguilera dealt A♠ Q♠. The board ran out A♣ 6♠ K♦ 8♥ K♠, giving Aguilera a pair of aces and kings—enough to beat Liano's nines.

With no chance to recover, Liano was knocked out of the competition. His seventh-place finish earned him €6,000. Meanwhile, Aguilera's chip stack swelled to 5,565,000 after the victory.

Liano's elimination narrows the field further in the WSOP Europe Main Event. Aguilera now moves forward with a stronger position, holding over 5.5 million in chips. The tournament continues as remaining players vie for higher payouts and the title.
