Esther Taylor’s $3M WSOP milestone cements her poker legacy
Esther 'Etay' Taylor has reached a new milestone in her long poker career. At the 2025 World Series of Poker (WSOP), she secured nine cashes, pushing her total winnings past $3 million. Her latest achievement includes a third-place finish in the elite $50K Poker Players Championship.
Taylor’s success spans decades, beginning with her first recorded WSOP cash in 2006. Now, she stands as only the second woman to ever reach the final table of that high-stakes event, following Melissa Burr’s 2014 feat.
Taylor’s journey in competitive games started over 20 years ago. Her earliest known tournament was the German national chess championship, long before poker became her focus. In 2006, she made her first WSOP cash, finishing 73rd in the Ladies event for $2,053.
This year’s WSOP marked another high point. With nine cashes, she cemented her place among poker’s most consistent players. Her third-place finish in the $50K Poker Players Championship added significantly to her earnings and reputation.
Beyond poker, Taylor remains active in golf, a passion she balances with her career. She credits her longevity in the game to maintaining a strong personal life. According to her, this balance helps manage the inevitable ups and downs of professional poker.
Looking ahead, Taylor has no plans to slow down. She intends to keep playing the WSOP Main Event for as long as she is physically able. Retirement from either poker or golf is not on her agenda, as she continues to enjoy both equally.
Taylor’s 2025 WSOP performance has solidified her status as one of poker’s enduring competitors. Her $3 million in career earnings and historic run in the $50K event highlight her skill and persistence. With no plans to step away, she remains a fixture in the game’s highest levels.
