In the heart of Offenbach's Bügel district, a residential building on Kurfürstenstraße experienced a fire on December 15, 2024, at 22:47. The emergency services, including the fire department, the volunteer fire departments Rumpenheim and Waldheim, and the rescue service, were promptly mobilized to tackle the blaze.

The fire was swiftly located, and its source was found in the basement of the building. Thanks to the coordinated effort, the spread of the flames to other parts of the building was prevented, and the fire was successfully extinguished.

A 68-year-old woman was rescued from her apartment seven minutes after the alarm. She was taken to a clinic for treatment due to smoke inhalation. Unfortunately, a firefighter was injured during the operation. He sustained a cut to his hand, but his identity has not been publicly disclosed.

Despite the challenges, the emergency services managed to rescue the woman in a timely manner. Their quick response and effective efforts ensured the safety of the residents and prevented further damage to the building.

The rescued woman is currently receiving treatment and is expected to make a full recovery. The fire department, along with the volunteer fire departments Rumpenheim and Waldheim, have been commended for their swift action and dedication to the community.
