Dubai Fountain still dazzles with record-breaking water shows after 15 years
The Dubai Fountain remains one of the emirate’s most spectacular attractions. Since its launch in 2009, the towering water display has drawn crowds with its mix of music, light, and choreographed jets. Visitors can enjoy the show for free—or get even closer with paid experiences like boat rides and floating walkways.
The fountain first opened on October 8, 2009, at Burj Khalifa Lake in Downtown Dubai. It quickly became a global landmark, holding the record as the world’s tallest performing fountain, with water reaching up to 140 metres high. The performances run every 30 minutes from 6pm to 11pm daily, though during Ramadan, shows typically begin after 7.30pm.
The Dubai Fountain remains a must-see for anyone visiting the city. Free to watch from the lake’s edge, it also offers paid options for a more immersive experience. With daily shows and a record-breaking height, the fountain stays a highlight of Downtown Dubai’s skyline.
