Doug Polk's $100K poker challenge awaits a fearless opponent

Doug Polk has launched a new open heads-up no-limit hold'em challenge, inviting top poker players to face him in a high-stakes battle. The event will see 5,000 hands played at 100/200 or higher over three days on ClubWPT Gold. So far, no one has stepped forward to accept the challenge.

The list of potential opponents includes well-known names like Phil Hellmuth, Phil Galfond, and Phil Ivey. Other possible challengers are Matt Berkey, Luke Schwartz, Bryn Kenney, Big Huni, and Senor Tilt. Polk is choosing rivals based on who would create the most entertaining match for viewers.

If a player defeats Polk, they walk away with a $25,000 bounty. Each time Polk wins a match, the bounty increases by another $25,000, capping at $100,000. The games will be streamed live on Polk's YouTube channel once a challenger accepts.

Daniel Negreanu, a GGPoker ambassador, is unlikely to participate due to restrictions tied to his sponsorship. As of now, no other player has publicly confirmed or declined the invitation.

The challenge remains open, with no confirmed participants yet. The winner of each match stands to gain a growing cash prize, while viewers will watch the action unfold on Polk's streaming platform. The outcome depends on whether any of the named players—or another contender—takes up the offer.
