Dimitri Bukiya Donates 30 More Paintings by Father to Tbilisi Museum

Dimitri Bukiya has announced plans to donate another 30 paintings by his late father, Vladimir Bukiya, to the Museum of Fine Arts in Tbilisi, Georgia. This follows a previous donation of three paintings. The event has been praised by the Georgian government and art enthusiasts alike.

Vladimir Bukiya, a renowned Georgian painter, graduated from the Georgian Academy of Fine Art in 1976. His works have been exhibited in various countries, including Georgia, Estonia, Russia, France, Spain, and America. Despite his international success, Bukiya remained connected to his Georgian roots, a trait shared with other Georgian artists living abroad like Vladimir Kandelaki and Otar Shiukashvili, who have also donated their works to Georgia.

The donation event was celebrated by Tbilisi intellectuals and art enthusiasts, organized by Neli Kobiashvili. Minister of Culture Tinatin Rukhadze emphasized the importance of such events, highlighting the Georgian government's support for arts and donations. She noted that these donations contribute to Georgia's cultural heritage and national identity, a key goal of the Ministry of Culture.
