Day 2 of WSOPC Calgary Monster Stack Promises 6-Figure Payouts

Day 2 of the Monster Stack event at WSOPC Calgary #2 is set to begin at noon, with a prize pool that promises 6-figure payouts for the top players. The event has attracted a strong field, with some notable names bringing substantial chip stacks to the table.

Leading the pack is Taeyoon Kang, who enters Day 2 with a commanding 2,000,000 chips. Despite having only two small cashes in his career, Kang has proven to be a formidable force at the table. Close behind him is Alex Liu, the 2022 WSOP-C & Super Stack Main winner, with 1,998,000 chips. Michael Cartwright and James Taksas round out the top five with 1,580,000 and 1,495,000 chips respectively.

Mike Malm, the 2024 Alberta Poker Index Player of the Year, has also made a strong showing with 1,685,000 chips, placing him in third position. The blinds will start at 28:17 minutes in Level 23 and increase to 45 minutes in Level 25. The winner of the event stands to gain nearly $61,000 for their $400 buy-in, with the minimum cash prize being $1,352.
