Daniel Lowery claims 19th WSOP Circuit ring at Lake Tahoe, nearing historic record

Daniel Lowery has claimed his 19th WSOP Circuit ring at Caesars Republic Lake Tahoe, bringing him one step closer to Ari Engel's record of 20. The win earned him just under $10,000, with the Event #2: $400 Pot-Limit Omaha boasting a prize pool of $102,460. Lowery's victory comes after Maurice Hawkins overtook him in the leaderboard at the same event.

Lowery's final opponent was Mark Vail, who had previously earned just $25,000 in career earnings. The victory is Lowery's fourth at Lake Tahoe, with previous wins in 2014 and 2017. This win also marks his second title of the year, following his triumph in the Seniors event in Tulsa in March 2023.

Lowery believes a lucky jelly bean gifted by his son played a role in his victory. Despite his recent success, Lowery admitted his motivation to win more rings has decreased since Maurice Hawkins and Ari Engel extended their leads. He also confessed that his heart hasn't been in playing poker as much this year.

With his latest win, Daniel Lowery pulls within one ring of Ari Engel's record. The Event #2 had 113 entries, with Lowery's victory earning him a significant payout. Despite his reduced motivation, Lowery's performance at Lake Tahoe shows he remains a formidable force in the WSOP Circuit.
