Chinese investors launch Khabarovsk's first local window profile factory

A new window profile factory has opened in Khabarovsk Krai, marking a shift from imports to local production. The facility, launched by Chinese investors, is already manufacturing 50,000 square metres of finished window products. Government incentives for residents of the Advanced Development Territory (ADT) have supported its growth.

Businessmen Liu Mengmeng and his wife, originally from China's Heilongjiang Province, invested 230 million rubles in the project. Their factory now supplies window profiles that were previously imported from China. The investors are also preparing to expand by clearing land for new workshops dedicated to tempered glass production, with manufacturing expected to start as early as next year.

Currently, the factory relies on imported components but plans to increase local sourcing. Specialised tempered glass remains a priority for future localisation. The rising demand for housing in Khabarovsk is set to boost sales, as residential construction continues to grow.

This project is part of a broader trend. Since 2020, three other companies from Heilongjiang Province have launched similar ventures in the ADT. Harbin Pharmaceutical Group began pharmaceutical production in 2021, Heilongjiang Beidahuang Agriculture started food processing in 2022, and Heilongjiang Longshen Group opened a machinery plant in 2024. Official reports from Russia's Far East Development Ministry confirm these investments.

The factory's output will help reduce reliance on Chinese imports while meeting local construction needs. With government support and growing demand, the project is expected to strengthen Khabarovsk's industrial base. Further expansion in tempered glass production could follow in the coming year.
