Chicken Ranch Casino's 'The OG' reopens with modern upgrades after two-year closure
The Chicken Ranch Casino Resort will reopen its original gaming venue, 'The OG', on March 1, 2025. The property has been closed since January 5, 2023, for major renovations aimed at modernising the space while keeping its long-standing character.
The OG first opened as a bingo hall in 1985 before expanding to include slot machines in 2000. This latest upgrade includes a reconfigured gaming floor, designed to improve visitor movement and fit more machines. Within a month of reopening, 16 electronic table games will also be introduced.
The venue will continue to operate as an 18-and-over gaming space, allowing smoking but serving no alcohol. Inside, guests will once again find the Roost Coffee Shop and Ranch House Restaurant, both resuming service after the closure.
The OG's return comes alongside the tribe's broader strategy to run two distinct gaming properties. The newer $325 million Chicken Ranch Casino, Resort and Conference Center opened in November 2024, offering a different experience. By keeping both locations active, the tribe aims to cater to varied guest preferences.
The reopening marks the end of a two-year renovation period. The OG will now function alongside the resort, giving visitors a choice between a refreshed classic venue and a modern casino complex. No further details have been released about structural changes beyond the gaming floor updates.
