Cam Stewart dominates the PPT main event for his first title win
Cam Stewart has claimed victory in the Pure Player of the Year (PPT) main event. The win marks his first title in the competition, making him the only player so far to secure the prestigious honour. His performance also earned him the highest points in the Player of the Series standings.
The tournament saw early exits from notable players, including Pav Braich, the former back-to-back champion, who finished in 12th place. By the first break, Stewart had built the third-largest stack, positioning himself strongly for the later stages.
As play progressed, Sheraz Nasir was eliminated after losing an all-in with kings against Travis Darroch's pocket threes. Josh Wallace followed soon after, falling to Nadeen Narayan when his queens lost a coin flip against her aces. Narayan later doubled up at the final three-handed stage, balancing the chip counts.
Stewart maintained a dominant stack while Robert Limpert and Stefan Maloney were knocked out. Heads-up play began with Travis Darroch holding the chip lead, having entered the final table with over 2,000,000. However, Stewart secured the title with a decisive flush draw on the river, outlasting Darroch to take the win.
The victory confirms Stewart as the sole winner of the PPT main event to date. His consistent performance throughout the series also secured him the top spot in the Player of the Series race. The result cements his position as a leading contender in high-stakes tournament play.
