Buzhyew ‘BK’ Ansha wins MSPT’s $500K Main Event in Minnesota’s Winter Poker Classic

The 29th and final stop of Major Series of Poker: The Tour (MSPT) Season 16 has wrapped up at Minnesota’s Running Aces Casino. The Winter Poker Classic ran from December 2-14, offering players one last chance to earn Player of the Year points across 18 Gold Card events. Among the highlights was a high-stakes Main Event that drew nearly 850 competitors.

The $1,110 buy-in, $500,000 guaranteed Main Event exceeded expectations with 838 entries, building an $811,360 prize pool. Buzhyew 'BK' Ansha took first place after a heads-up deal with Kou Vang, securing $138,953 in prize money. Vang, a two-time MSPT Hall of Famer, finished second and collected $114,000. Fellow Hall of Famer Blake Bohn also reached the final table, adding to the event’s prestige.

The Winter Poker Classic marked the end of MSPT Season 16, with Ansha and Vang splitting the Main Event’s top prizes. Long’s multiple wins have cemented his lead in the Player of the Year race, while Cannon’s deep runs added to his season earnings. The series provided a final push for competitors chasing rankings and cash before the year’s close.
