The image shows a group of people standing around a table with flower vases, books, and other objects on it. In the background, there is a banner with text and flags, and a screen at the top of the image. The banner reads "Lagos State University of Science and Technology" and the people in the image appear to be signing a memorandum of understanding.

Burkina Faso's National Lottery Prepares for Historic Certification Audit

The Burkina Faso National Lottery (LONAB) has begun a mock audit to prepare for its upcoming official certification. Running from March 16 to 20, 2026, the exercise aims to assess the organisation's readiness and refine internal processes before the real evaluation takes place. This marks the first known audit of its kind for LONAB in at least five years.

The mock audit is a joint effort between LONAB and the Burkinabe Association of Quality Management (ABMAQ). It will cover several key locations, including the corporate headquarters, the Main Agency of Ouagadougou, the Koudougou branch, and the Ouaga 3 agency in Tanghin. Multiple lines of business within the state-run gambling sector will also be reviewed.

The process involves employee interviews, document checks, and on-site observations, with strict confidentiality measures in place. Ibrahim Ben Harouna ZARANI, LONAB's Director General, has emphasised the importance of detecting any non-conformities early. He has urged full staff mobilisation and cooperation from all quality management system (QMS) actors to ensure a smooth audit. Once completed, the findings will be compiled into a formal report. This document will outline LONAB's strengths as well as areas needing improvement before the official certification assessment.

The mock audit will conclude on March 20, 2026, with a detailed report expected shortly after. The results will guide LONAB in making final adjustments ahead of the official evaluation. No previous certification attempts or similar audits have been publicly recorded for the organisation in recent years.
