Buenos Aires launches Responsible Gaming Week to combat problem betting
Buenos Aires is set to host its annual Responsible Gaming Week from February 17th to 22nd. The event, organised by Lotería de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires (LOTBA), will focus on promoting safer gambling habits across the city. Activities will include training sessions, public awareness drives, and educational outreach to encourage responsible play.
LOTBA recently launched a new training initiative aimed at preventing illegal gaming and addressing problem betting. The programme specifically targeted former cashiers who had previously worked in underground gaming operations. This effort is part of the broader Hablar es Ganar (Talking is Winning) campaign, which prioritises user protection and responsible gaming practices.
During Responsible Gaming Week, interactive workshops will take place at key locations like Hipódromo de Palermo and Casino de Puerto Madero. These sessions will provide practical guidance on safe gaming behaviours. LOTBA will also run awareness campaigns highlighting support hotlines and player protection tools available to the public.
To extend its reach, the organisation will share educational materials on its official online platforms. The goal is to ensure that information about responsible gaming is accessible to a wider audience. LOTBA has emphasised that fostering lawful and secure gaming environments remains a top priority for the local market.
The week-long event will bring together training, public engagement, and digital outreach to reinforce safer gaming practices. By focusing on education and support, LOTBA aims to create a more informed and protected gaming community in Buenos Aires. The initiative reflects ongoing efforts to reduce risks associated with problem gaming in the city.
