Britney Spears' Las Vegas residency rakes in $100M as Caesars bets on millennials
Las Vegas residencies are drawing in new crowds, with Caesars Entertainment focusing on millennials as a key audience. The company, which owns Planet Hollywood, has successfully revamped its strategy after a bankruptcy reorganisation. One of its biggest draws is Britney Spears, whose residency has sold over 700,000 tickets since 2013. Britney Spears launched her 'Piece of Me' residency in Las Vegas in 2013. By January 2017, the show had sold 710,418 tickets, bringing in more than $103 million in revenue. The average ticket price stood at $145.54, reflecting strong demand.
The residency paused briefly but is set to return in late March 2017, with 30 new shows already scheduled. This follows Spears' early career success, including her 1999 debut album ...Baby One More Time and the 2000 follow-up Oops!...I Did It Again, both of which achieved massive commercial success.
Caesars Entertainment, which operates Planet Hollywood where Spears performs, previously filed for bankruptcy but has since restructured its business. The company now targets younger audiences by booking high-profile acts like Spears and Jennifer Lopez.
Meanwhile, Celine Dion's Las Vegas residency (2003–2019) remains the highest-grossing of all time, with over 1,000 shows and $650 million in revenue. Her next residency in Paris is scheduled to begin on September 12, 2026. Britney Spears' Las Vegas residency has proven a major financial success, with ticket sales surpassing $100 million. The show's return in March 2017 will add 30 more performances, reinforcing its popularity. Caesars Entertainment's shift toward millennial-focused acts continues to reshape the city's entertainment scene.
