Bratislava's Festival Series Poker Crowns Champions in Record-Breaking Event
The Festival Series Bratislava concluded successfully at Banco Casino from 23 February to 1 March. The event attracted players from across Europe, offering a mix of high-stakes tournaments and social gatherings. Among the highlights were a record-breaking prize pool and appearances by well-known poker figures.
The venue, Banco Casino, was transformed into Europe's largest multi-floored smoke-free poker room for the series. The €550 Main Event drew 505 entrants, creating a €239,875 prize pool. Petros Theodosiou took first place in the competition.
A new addition, the €1,100 10-Game Mix, ran over two days and attracted 44 players, building a €41,800 prize pool. The event also hosted side tournaments, including the €250 OFC Pineapple, where Koen Roos emerged victorious. Roos had previously made headlines by winning the Flaghunter GPI award for cashing in 50 countries within a single year.
Poker veteran Ari Engel, with nearly $10 million in live earnings, was among the participants. Beyond the tables, the series provided an opportunity for players to reconnect with old friends and meet new ones in the poker community.
The Festival Series Bratislava concluded with multiple winners, including Theodosiou in the Main Event and Roos in both a side tournament and the Flaghunter GPI award. The event's mix of competitive play and social networking left a lasting impression on participants. Organizers have not yet announced plans for future editions in the city.
