Betty Gaming Expands into Ontario's iBingo Market with Kirkland Lake Acquisition

Betty Gaming has acquired Kirkland Lake Bingo Hall, marking its entry into Ontario's online bingo market. The deal, finalised in late 2025, keeps the hall's name and staff unchanged while setting the stage for technology upgrades. This move follows the company's rapid growth in the province's iGaming sector since its 2023 launch.

Kirkland Lake Bingo Hall has served as a community hub since 1998, supporting local charities through regulated bingo. Betty Gaming's takeover aims to boost charitable funding while modernising the venue's facilities and digital offerings.

The acquisition aligns with Betty Gaming's expansion strategy. Since launching in 2023, the company has climbed from a niche player to a top-five operator in Ontario's iGaming market. Its market share jumped from under 3% in 2023 to 12% in 2025, driven by strong performance in sports betting and casino games. A new iBingo division, introduced in 2024, now contributes 18% of total revenue and has lifted overall sales by 25%. Peer-to-peer online bingo, currently classified under casino games in Ontario's reports, remains a small but growing segment. In January, online casinos dominated the market with a 77% share of non-adjusted gross gaming revenue, totalling $308.9 million. Betty Gaming becomes the third operator in the province to offer this format. CEO Chavdar Dimitrov described the purchase as a long-term commitment to Kirkland Lake. The company plans to upgrade the hall's technology while preserving its role as a local gathering place.

The bingo hall will keep its name and all four employees after the deal. Betty Gaming's investment focuses on improving facilities and expanding charitable contributions. With this acquisition, the operator strengthens its position in Ontario's regulated gaming market.
