Best city clinics named in Astana

A recent contest in Astana aimed to boost the quality of primary healthcare services across the city. Organised under the 'Primary Healthcare Leader' initiative, the event saw 42 local medical organisations compete for top honours. The competition focused on improving patient care and encouraging excellence among providers.

The winners were announced after evaluations based on five key performance metrics, with City Polyclinic No. 4 taking first place.

The contest brought together 42 primary healthcare providers in Astana. Each was assessed on five specific criteria, including service quality, patient satisfaction, and operational efficiency. The goal was to push organisations to raise standards and take greater responsibility for their patients.

City Polyclinic No. 4 claimed the top spot, earning recognition for its outstanding performance. The 'Shipager Family Health Center' LLP secured second place, while City Polyclinic No. 7 finished third. No organisation received the 'Primary Healthcare Leader' award, as no such title was documented in public records by December 22, 2025.

Winners were awarded trophies, official certificates, and a special collection of works by Abai Kunanbayev. The Republican Center for Primary Healthcare Services also received a diploma for its efforts in public outreach and patient education.

The event comes as medical services under the compulsory social health insurance (CSHI) system expand to private clinics in Astana. This move broadens access to care while reinforcing the city’s commitment to strengthening primary healthcare.

The contest highlighted the progress of Astana’s primary healthcare sector while motivating providers to strive for better performance. With expanded insurance coverage now including private clinics, patients have more options for quality care. The awards serve as both recognition and an incentive for continued improvement in the system.
