Asia’s *Silk Way Star* Finale Crowns a New Global Talent in Astana
The grand finale of Silk Way Star, Asia’s first major vocal competition, will take place in Astana on November 22. Performers from 12 countries will compete for the title, with the event broadcast across multiple networks, including Jibek Joly, Silk Way, and CCTV-3. The winner will gain the Silk Way Star crown and a chance to advance on the global stage.
The project is a joint effort between Kazakhstan’s Presidential TV and Radio Corporation and China Media Group (CMG). Behind the scenes, a team of five stylists and dozens of specialists—including makeup and hair artists—have prepared for the event. They describe Silk Way Star as their first international competition of this scale in terms of visual production.
Viewers in multiple countries will watch the finale, which promises elaborate performances and intricate costuming. The winning contestant will receive the Silk Way Star title and an opportunity to build an international career. The event marks a significant step in cross-border entertainment collaboration.
