Aristocrat Interactive shuts down white-label iGaming by June 2023

Aristocrat Interactive is shutting down its white-label iGaming operations by the end of June 2023. The move will result in around 120 job losses across its global workforce. This decision marks a shift in the company's long-term business strategy.

The closure affects Aristocrat Interactive's entire white-label division, ending its presence in this segment of the market. The company has determined that these services no longer align with its growth plans. Instead, it will focus on higher-growth opportunities and consolidate operations nearer to its main headquarters.

Malta has long been a hub for white-label operators due to the Malta Gaming Authority's (MGA) licensing framework. Aristocrat's exit from the island reflects a broader trend of consolidation within the industry. The shutdown will impact various roles within the company, including teams based in Malta. No details have been provided on how many other white-label providers have scaled back since 2020. Similarly, the company has not disclosed alternative business models it may adopt following this withdrawal.

The closure of Aristocrat Interactive's white-label division will take full effect by June 2023. Around 120 employees will be made redundant as a result. The company's decision highlights its strategic pivot toward areas it considers more profitable and sustainable.
