Alan Zhu's costly blunder hands Roger Hoyt a massive poker pot

A high-stakes poker hand between Alan Zhu and Roger Hoyt saw a dramatic shift in chips at a recent tournament. The clash ended with Zhu losing a significant portion of his stack after a series of aggressive bets and raises.

The hand began with Hoyt raising to 30,000. Zhu called, and the flop came Q♠ J♥ 6♦. Zhu then bet 60,000, which Hoyt called.

On the turn (4♠), both players checked, keeping the pot unchanged. The river (7♦) brought fresh action, with Zhu betting 100,000. Hoyt responded by raising to 300,000, and Zhu called.

When the cards were revealed, Hoyt showed 7♥ 6♠ for two pair, securing the pot. The hand left Zhu with around 600,000 in chips, down from his earlier total of $312,000 before the hand. The loss amounted to $248,000 for Zhu.

The hand marked a costly moment for Zhu, who saw his stack shrink significantly. Hoyt's two pair proved decisive, shifting the tournament dynamics in his favour. Zhu now faces an uphill battle with fewer chips at his disposal.
