AI and Therapy Join Forces to Combat Gambling Addiction Globally
Mindway AI and AnonyMind have joined forces to tackle gambling addiction through advanced technology and psychological support. The partnership aims to detect early signs of problematic behaviour and provide confidential treatment to affected players. Together, they will combine player protection software with evidence-based therapies for a more comprehensive approach.
Mindway AI's software already monitors over 6.5 million active gamblers each month across 21 countries. Using machine learning and neuroscience, it analyses player data to flag risky behaviour before it escalates. Human psychologists then review these findings to ensure accuracy.
AnonyMind specialises in confidential mental health treatments through its CarePlus services. Their offerings include Third Wave cognitive-behavioural therapies, high-intensity CBT, and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR). These methods are designed to address addiction at different stages.
The collaboration allows gambling operators using Mindway AI's tools to directly connect players with AnonyMind's counselling. Andrew Plummer, AnonyMind's head of partnerships, believes this integration will create sustainable support systems. Mindway AI's CEO, Rasmus Kjaergaard, has also expressed enthusiasm for the project's potential impact.
No updates have been provided on a new Chief Operating Officer at AnonyMind this year. The only recent leadership announcement in the field was Darren Walker's appointment as President and CEO of Anonymous Content in January 2026.
The partnership will enable faster intervention for at-risk gamblers by linking detection technology with specialised treatment. Operators adopting the system can now offer players direct access to psychological support. The combined approach aims to reduce harm while maintaining player confidentiality.
