A Magical Musical Quest Revives a Silent Village for Young Listeners
A new musical project for children, The Mystery of the Magic Melody, has launched across major Russian digital platforms. Supported by the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives, it blends an audio play, an original album, and animated videos into a single adventure. The story follows three young friends on a quest to revive music in their silent village.
Earlier this year, the Sverdlovsk Youth Theatre also staged Aladdin’s Magic Lamp, a festive production that captured the spirit of winter celebrations.
The project unfolds in Raspevnaya, a village where music has mysteriously disappeared. Three children—Nadya, Misha, and Yegor—set out to find five enchanted notes. Their goal is to awaken the Melody and bring harmony back to their homeland.
The release includes eight original songs and seven animated music videos, all tied to the same narrative. Since late October, the audio play, album, and videos have been available on apple music and youtube music. The team behind it plans to develop the story into a full-length animated film in the future. Notable performers lend their voices to the project, including Bolshoi Theatre soloist Elchin Azizov and jazz vocalist Mariam Merabova. Leading children’s ensembles also take part. Aimed at audiences aged two and older, the production teaches lessons about friendship, family, and love for one’s roots. Initiatives like this align with the objectives of Russia’s Family national project, which promotes cultural and educational content for young audiences.
The project offers a mix of storytelling, music, and animation for young listeners. Its creators hope to expand the adventure into a feature-length film. For now, families can explore the audio play, songs, and videos on apple music and youtube.
