A new £150 million casino is set to open in Westmoreland County, marking a major development for the region. The Cordish Gaming Group, which currently runs no Live! Casino sites in Pennsylvania, has appointed industry veteran Sean Sullivan as general manager for the project. Once complete, the venue is expected to bring significant economic benefits to the area. The Live! Casino Westmoreland, still under construction inside the Westmoreland Mall, has already generated strong interest. The project is forecast to create around 960 jobs during its build phase, with an economic impact of £148 million. Once operational, its annual contribution to the local economy is projected to reach £180 million.
Sean Sullivan, the newly appointed general manager, brings over 40 years of experience in gaming and hospitality. His most recent position was vice president and general manager at Meadows Racetrack & Casino in Washington, Pennsylvania. Under his leadership, the upcoming Live! Casino aims to become the leading entertainment and gaming destination in the Pittsburgh market. The development is one of Pennsylvania's most anticipated projects, promising a mix of gaming, dining, and entertainment options. With Sullivan at the helm, the casino is expected to draw visitors from across the region upon its completion.
The opening of Live! Casino Westmoreland will introduce the Cordish Gaming Group's first Pennsylvania location. The venue's construction and operation are set to boost employment and economic activity in the area. Once finished, it will compete as a top-tier destination for gaming and leisure in the Pittsburgh region.
